Meta acquires Moltbook, an AI-agent social network
Meta is acquiring Moltbook, a fast-growing social platform where AI agents post, comment, and interact with each other in a Reddit-style feed.
The Moltbook team will join Meta’s Superintelligence Labs, a new group focused on building AI systems that can ultimately exceed human cognitive performance.
Moltbook became known for its open-source OpenClaw framework, which lets anyone spin up persistent AI agents with identities and behaviors inside the network.
OpenAI is killing Sora and pulling video out of ChatGPT
OpenAI is shutting down its Sora video generator, discontinuing the Sora app and API, and removing Sora-powered video creation from ChatGPT, reported by NBC.
The decision reportedly reflects a focus on core foundation models, agents, and “world simulation” research rather than consumer-facing video products.
Teams that built creative, marketing, or product pipelines on Sora will need to migrate to alternative video generation vendors and adjust infra and workflows accordingly.
Claude Code, Cursor, and GitHub Copilot as the most widely used AI coding tools
According to The Pragmatic Engineer subscribers, and nearly a thousand of who have shared their experiences, tools like Claude Code, Cursor, and GitHub Copilot are the most widely adopted AI coding assistants, with notable growth for newer entries like Gemini-based CLIs and OpenCode.
A new wave of “agentic IDEs” and terminals—such as Zed, Windsurf, Amp, Augment Code, and Factory—is gaining traction, moving from side experiments into daily workflows.
These tools increasingly act as autonomous coding partners that can understand repos, navigate context, refactor code, and manage multi-step tasks instead of just autocomplete snippets. Engineering leaders are starting to standardize on 1–2 primary AI coding tools, adding policies, reviews, and guardrails rather than letting each developer pick a different agent
